About Higashiagatsuma - Draw the vernal breath
東吾妻について - 春を惹く呼吸

I made the illustration for my first solo exhibition ''春を惹く呼吸 ー Draw the vernal breath" [Term: 2nd February - 5th March 2023] at Cafe Serenite in Japan. Artwork title: About Higashiagatsuma - Draw the vernal breath.
'Higashiagatsuma' is the name of the town, where the town held my show. Since my previous show, I have chosen title names from each town. As well as I use the water of the town in my watercolour.
It simply comes from the process of creation: I had been inhaling a lot of things from Naganohara town (which place I working at there), and I had been exhaling the things in my work at Nakanojo town (my atelier is in the town). The process was like a full cycle of breathing.
Previously, I exhibited my work at a group exhibition which we held in 2022. The artwork title: 呼吸 "breath" ー CIRCLES. I made entirely new work between the beginning of Autumn to the beginning of Winter.
For the solo exhibition, I tried the cycle a bit longer. Therefore I continued my breathing to create more work. I inhaled things at the exhibition site Serenite to draw/pull out the spring season, then exhaled in the work.

群馬県の東吾妻町で2023年の2月2日から3月5日に開催した初個展「春を惹く呼吸 ー Draw the vernal breath」のために制作した作品です。
この作品は2022年に中之条町で開催した「拝啓、うつり住みまして」のグループ展示のから派生した作品です。グループ展示では「呼吸」というタイトルで呼吸をするように、私が生活していた町から着想を得たものを吸収して、イメージを解放する、その過程の中で生まれた作品を展示しました。水も作品タイトルの町から得た水を水彩画に使用しています。
今回の作品は、会場でもあった東吾妻町のカフェ「セレニテ」で得たものを吸収して、イメージを解放する、その過程を延長させた作品を展示しました。
