水のゆくえ

The artwork was created for my solo exhibition in Japan from 6th December 2024 to 27th January 2025. We split the exhibition term1; December 2024, and term2; January 2025.
Basically, I welcome to collaborate with a land's history and character of people. The gallery is belongs to a hand craftshop and it has a tiny bookshop next to the shop, I wanted to collaborate with the handcraft shop and the bookshop this time in my exhibition.
Therefore, I read some books of Rachel Carson; The Sense of Wonder, Silent Spring, and The Sea Around Us. Also I create this work through the reading process "The Sea Around Us" The book tells me about the sea and gave me a simple wonder 'Where come from the water, and where goes the water?'.
Watercolour needs water obviously, as an artist I have to responsibility an element of water in this world, as I thought.
For the exhibition, I provided some text like a book's introduction. Wished to change the perspective of all artwork, after reading it might be change to see somehow.

本作は2024年12月6日から2025年1月27日まで開催した、個展での作品の１つとして制作をした作品です。大変ありがたく会期自体が長かったため、前期と後期に分けて展示替えをしました。
制作の過程として、基本的にその土地の歴史や性格を大切にしています。うた種のミニギャラリーは手芸雑貨店の一部となります。同じ敷地には、フクロコウジという小さな本屋さんがあります。会場の性格を生かして手芸の要素や本を題材にした展示構成としました。
そのため、レイチェル・カーソンの書籍「センス・オブ・ワンダー」、「沈黙の春」、「われらをめぐる海」を参考にしました。とりわけ本作品は、「われらをめぐる海」を参考に制作しました。この書籍を通して海について知識を深めるうち、１つの不思議が思い巡りました。 ”水はどこから来て、どこへ行くのだろうか” です。
水彩絵具には水がとても必要です。一人の作家として、この世界にある資源の水というものに責任を持たなければならいとも思いました。
また、展示のために文章をいくつか作成しました。読むことで全ての作品の視点が変わり、何かが違って見えることを願いました。
